My Plan for a Day |
Tomorrow will be Saturday. I' ll get up between six and seven. I'd go downstairs before anyone else in the family is up to feed my out door pets and take my dog for a walk. |
I will have breakfast at 8:30. Then I' ll have milk and bread for breakfast because I think they are good for my health. My friends will come to my house and we' ll go to a reading club together. There, we will share what we have read over the past week with each other. In my opinion, it is meaningful for us to do the book sharing activity. |
At 12:30 pm, we' ll have lunch after the book sharing activity. After that, we plan to attend an English speech lecture(講座) given by a famous English teacher. The speech will last from14:30 to 16:00. Then we will go to play basketball. |
At 5:30 pm, I' ll come back home and have supper with my parents. They will provide me with delicious food. I like tomato and egg soup best. I'm pretty proud of the food cooked by my mother. After supper, I'd like to wash the dishes by myself. |
What is Competitive Eating? It's a game where people try to eat a lot of food very quickly. There are different types of food, like pizza and ice cream.
The Big Hot Dog Contest Every year, on July 4th, there's a big contest in New York where people eat hot dogs. It started because some people wanted to show they loved America by eating lots of hot dogs. The first winner ate 13 hot dogs in 12 minutes. The Best Eaters Joey Chestnut can eat 40 hot dogs? in 10 minutes. He's the best right now. Before him, Takeru Kobayashi was the best. He's not very big, but he can eat a lot of different foods very fast.
Is It Good or Bad? Some people think it's not good because it's not healthy and some people don't have enough food. But the people who do it think it's just a sport, like running or swimming. They see themselves as sports players.
Welcome to life in the future! You get up in the morning and look into the mirror. You' ve recently had a new anti-aging(抗衰老) treatment, so you look like a 30-year-old. And many people your age could live to be 120 now, so--at 60--you' re not old at all.
Science has also found amazing ways to keep people healthy. Nanotechnology(納米技術(shù)) can help cure(治愈) many illnesses, including cancer(癌癥). And if any part of your body is unhealthy, you can"grow" a new one in a laboratory(實驗室).
As you get dressed, you say to your shirt, "Turn red." It becomes red. In 2045, "smart" clothes contain nanoparticles(納米粒子) that carry electricity. So you can program clothes to change colors or patterns.
On the way to the kitchen, you want to call a friend. Your cell phone is by the window because it gets its energy from the sun. But you don't need to pick up the phone. You can just touch your jacket sleeve(袖子) to make the call.
It's breakfast time. You reach for the milk, but a voice says, "Don't drink that!" Your fridge knows the milk is old and tells the supermarket to replace it. Ten minutes later, it's delivered by a drone(無人機).
As you leave for work, the lights turn off by themselves. Your home goes into"sleep" mode to save energv. In 2045, cars drive themsclves, so you just tell your driverless car where you want to go.
Will all this come true? Perhaps the future is much closer than we think.
It's quite natural for us to make mistakes. However, if you make the same mistake for three times or even more, you' re too silly to be forgiven. How do you avoid(避免) making the same mistake again in daily study? I think keeping an error(錯誤) correction book after class is a good way. Mistakes must be corrected in the students' learning. Correcting is more valuable over the long term, especially for middle school students. An error correction book can help you in these ways.
Pay attention to your mistakes in time. When correcting mistakes, students will think seriously and improve from correcting mistakes. Always looking ever your own error correction book can make up for your knowledge gaps.
Develop good studying habits. The reasons why students make mistakes are as follows: They don't fully understand what they have learned; They don't remember what they should remember; They are too careless.
To find out the reasons for the mistakes, students will avoid the above points. And then they won't repeat them. Gradually, they will develop the good habits of listening carefully, remembering things and overcoming problems.
Provide the helpful basis for the final review. The error correction book can become one of the most useful tools. It can help students to avoid making similar mistakes in the exam. The error correction book is valuable for every student.
